49 health workers reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 in Enugu State.
Report has it as of today, that Forty-nine health workers in Enugu State Nigeria are said to have tested positive for COVID-19
But despite this, the government says the health workers have continued to do their best in the prevailing circumstances to deliver on their mandates.
This was confirmed on Monday, 22nd of June. The state, however, confirmed 68 new cases of coronavirus, leading to a total case of 144 cases.
The Enugu Ministry of Health in a statement stated that the number of active cases is 110, while 29 patients have been discharged and 5 have died.
The State’s Commissioner for Health, Obi Emmanuel Ikechukwu has urged all the residents not to suffer in silence as this is not a time to avoid visits to hospitals when medical attention is needed.
Adding that the government would continue to identify cases with testing and contact tracing. He stated that the state government would commence the decontaminating homes, workplaces or hospitals where identified cases and their contacts have been.
