Three Houses have been set ablaze at Ekwereocha/Amakohia in Ihitte/Uboma local government area of imo state, by angry villagers over the continued killings of members in the respective  villages. They report has it that the houses are owned by suspected killers It was gathered from a source that the incident on Tuesday followed the killing of a woman in the village. They killed her because they felt the old woman recognized one of them. “They did not only kill the woman they also matcheted the little child living with her, but fortunately the little child did not die as she later mentioned names of those that killed the woman, and as a result of this information, the police were able to arrest them. “After the arrests, the villagers got angry and burnt the houses of those involved in the killings. One of the wide spreading stories on social media lately has it that, an 80 years old woman in Anambra state that was discovered this morning dangling on top an electric pole. According to the report by an eye witness who share the photos on Facebook, lamented that the old woman was a witch and was trapped on an electric pole while coming back from coven. Another sources confirmed that she get tired when returning back from coven and fell on top an electric pole. She was later assisted by people living in the community to climb down and was taken to the village head for questioning. According to Shehu's statement, the President also directed an investigation into the cause of the inferno, in order to avoid the horrific situation in the future, while condoling with all those that were affected. A section of the popular Oba Market was gutted by fire early Monday. . The inferno was put out by firefighters who were supported by operatives of the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Air Force, among others.

At the end of the battle the cotton was drawn, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu was  declared the winner of the governorship primary Election Mr Ize-Iyamu, who enjoys the support of the embattled national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, defeated two other aspirants – Pius Odubu and Osaze Obazee – to win the primary. The direct primary was reportedly conducted in the 18 local governments of Edo State. In the result announced by the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, Mr Ize-Iyamu scored 27,833 votes while Mr Odubu, the former deputy governor of the state, came second with 3,776. Mr Obazee garnered over 2,000 votes, said Mr Izodinma who is the chairman of the primary committee of the party. Mr Ize-Iyamu, who was the opposition PDP governorship candidate in 2016, will now fly the flag of the APC in the September governorship election.

Three officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have been struck to death by thunder in Ogun State. DAILY POST reports that the incident occurred on Wednesday at the old toll gate, Ilese, in Ijebu North East Local Government Area of the state. 21-yr-old man in police net for defiling Inspector’s daughter in Bayelsa 21 years old Zuozoa, from Agudama-Ekpetiama community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State has been arrested and is cooling off in police custody for allegedly defiling a 16years old daughter of a serving Police Inspector. The suspect, a former undergraduate of a private university before he was rusticated for cult-related activities, was said to have raped the teenager who is also his relation in her family house in Agudama-Ekpetiama community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state. According to a close family member, the suspect who resides in Yenagoa, the state capital, went into hiding after committing the act before he was arrested and taken into custody on Wednesday.
