Enugu state police command release photo of woman who drilled a nail into the head of her housemaid. The Enugu state police command has released a photo of the woman who drilled a nail into the head of her 10-year-old housemaid.  A statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command, Daniel Ndukwe Ikea, states that the woman, Ifeoma Ozougwu , 24, and her husband, Jude Ozougwu , 40, were arrested following credible information received July 2 alleging that a woman in Akonameze Street, Thinker’s Corner, Enugu, inflicted degrees of injuries on her minor female ward. Obinwanne Okeke, the well known   CEO of Invictus group  who w as arrested in the United States last year, has pleaded guilty to $11 million (N4.2 billion) fraud. The 32-year-old Nigerian billionaire admitted to American prosecutors that he was involved in computer-based fraud between 2015 and 2019. A spokesperson for the United States District Court for Eastern District of Virginia, Joshua Stueve, told Premium Times on Thursday evening that Mr Okeke could spend 20 years maximum penalty in an American jail. He would be sentenced on October 22, Mr Stueve said.

Court grants policeman charged with Floyd murder $1m bail Judge set a $1 million bail for police officer Derek Chauvin Monday at Minneapolis as he made his first court appearance charged with the murder of George Floyd, the 46-year-old African-American man whose death sparked nationwide protests. Chauvin, who was filmed on May 25 pressing his knee on handcuffed Floyd’s neck until he expired, appeared by video from Minnesota state prison to face charges of one count of second degree murder, one count of third degree murder, and one count of manslaughter. In a procedural hearing that did not require Chauvin, 44, to submit a plea, the judge in the Hennepin County District Court set his bail at $1 million with conditions, and $1.25 million without conditions. Meeting the conditions would require him to surrender his firearms, not work in law enforcement or security in any capacity, and have no contact with the family of Floyd.

The Lagos state police command has arrested a young man simply identified as Chima for allegedly setting his pregnant elder sister, Victoria, 20, ablaze at their residence around CAC Bus Stop in Okokomaiko, Ojo, on May 14. According to reports gathered by Nigerian Gossip, Chima and Victoria, who was said to be two months pregnant, were on the day of the incident, in the kitchen of the restaurant they operated as a family. Trouble started after their mother scolded Victoria for leaving their residence to cohabit with men. An argument ensued between both women and in the process, Victoria slapped her mother. Infuriated by his sister's action, Chima reportedly grabbed a keg filled with petrol and hit her with it.
